FIFA 13 | A New Beginning!

FIFA 13 has not even been on shelves for a month now and EA Sports has already sold over 4,000,000 copies. To be exact, those 4 million copies were sold in just 5 days after the release, which took place on the 25th of September. I guess there is a reason behind FIFA 13 being the best selling sports title in history. That’s quite an achievement EA, congratulations!

The game has attracted hundreds of complaints after online issues plagued users.

Let’s get to the point. FIFA 13 is a major improvement upon FIFA 12 due to numerous reasons. Electronic Arts has implemented a variety of new features such as: EAS FC catalogue, EAS FC Match Day, skill games, and others. The EAS FC catalogue now allows players to purchase various “boosts” and items which give the player certain rewards. For example, I am at level 50 so I could decide to purchase the “Push ups Goal Celebration” for 600 EAS FC  credits. I find the catalogue to be a neat feature because it allows for more fun and less rage, once you start playing you will understand. 🙂

Skill games played a large part in the promotion of FIFA 13, and I find that it has not lived up to its standards. Yes, the skill games are fun at first, however you will find that they become quite mundane as you progress in your FIFA career. With that being said, they are extremely much fun when you’re bored or trying to compete with your friends.

The FIFA 13 game features real players and team, and is the bestselling sports game in history.

FIFA ultimate team is very different this year, not only has the layout changed dramatically, the modes have been affected as well. The single matches have been removed, however, EA has implemented a new “tournament” mode that replaced the single matches in which you start at division 5 and work yourself towards division 1. I found that FUT 13 is very similar to the “seasons” game mode now, since the only two options of getting into a game is by playing FUT seasons offline or online.

FIFA 13 is by far the better game when compared to the previous FIFA’s, however there’s still some bumps here and there. It’s a really fun and enjoyable game that can be enjoyed by nearly any age groups and provides for a lot of fun and competitiveness among friends. I would recommend to pick up your copy as soon as possible, as I think the price has gone down a bit. Watch the official FIFA 13 trailer below!

Thank You Steve, For Everything

On October 5th, 2011, former Apple CEO and Chairman Steve Jobs passed away at the age of 56. This was such a sad and shocking day for the World, for Jobs had inspired millions around the World with his innovative and slick products. Steve was a one-of-a-kind, he will not be replaced within this century. Steve had been battling pancreatic cancer since 2004. It’s disappeared and reappeared throughout the years. Unfortunately it got the better of him on October 5th, as he died surrounded by his family and friends. The Apple Board of Directors, yesterday, released a statement saying:

We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.

Over the years Steve as revolutionized the technology industry. He has brought so many new kinds of technologies to this planet, that otherwise might not even be here today. Look around your room… I bet you there’s at least one Apple product near you. It’s quite amazing and extraordinary how a man like Jobs has affected our living space, our favorite music, our favorite movies, and our favorite devices. Where would we be without this important man? Nobody knows; and thank god that this man founded Apple. I remember one of the first videos that I watched, regarding Steve Jobs, on YouTube, was his Stanford University Commencement Speech which took place in 2005.  Here’s one of the most powerful quote’s that you will ever read:

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma–which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. – Steve Jobs

We are extremely saddened by the death of a great technology mogul, and wanted to write our own message to him. This is our message to Steve Jobs & his family:

We are all shocked and stunned by the death of a hero. Steve was a one-of-a-kind technology mogul, he can’t be replaced. Not only was Steve one of the most successful CEO’s of all time, he inspired the World with his extraordinary and special products. He will be missed greatly, and our condolences go out to Steve’s family, his friends, his relatives, and his company.

Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus For iPhone & iPod Touch Now Available! Best FPS On App Store!

Modern Combat 2: Black PegasusFinish What You Started. That’s the new slogan for Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus. Modern Combat 2 contains so many new features, that it clearly resembles the best FPS on the Apple App Store yet. The game was developed & produced by Gameloft, an American company that specializes in developing games for devices such as the iPhone, the iPod Touch, mobile Phones, & many more. Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus was released by the App Store on October 7th, 2010 with already more than 1000’s of downloads. Modern Combat 2 is also featured as Apple’s “App Of the Week”, which is truly remarkable considering it was only just released several days ago. Let’s get down to the details…

Two of the main new features is the Ranking System, consisting of 72 Ranks, & the new Online player capacity. Modern Combat 2 now allows a maximum of 10 players (Modern Combat only allowed a max. of 4 players) , which gives the game a good Multi-Player reputation. With the new game modes, a max. of 10 Players/Online game, makes the game “that” much more enjoyable.  Coming to my next point… Game Modes! There are 4 Game Modes for Modern Combat 2, consisting of 2 new Modes. With “Battle” & “Team Battle” already being in the last series of Modern Combat, Modern Combat to now offers two new Modes… “Capture the Flag” & “Defuse the Bomb”. These additional modes should be quite self-explanatory to you. Having a max. of 10 Players, makes each of the Modes so much more remarkable, especially with all the action going on.

Now that I got the Online Multi-Player Specs out of the way, let’s concentrate on the offline specs. The new Campaign is truly the best one yet. The detail & graphics are great! With the Campaign being longer than usual, you’ll won’t be finding yourself bored for quite some time! 😀 With all the new guns & knifes, Modern Combat 2 really is a success!

Need I say anymore? Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus is the way to go for FPS addicts. Unfortunately the game itself costs $6.99 at the moment, but HEY! it’s better than paying $50-$60 for a Console Game. I predict that once the right time comes, Gameloft will lower the price… maybe $4.99, like several of their other games.

  • Ranking System (Consisting of 72 Ranks; XP Points)
  • Better Selection of weapons, including Knives
  • More opponents (Max. of 10 in an Online Match)
  • More Maps
  • More Game Modes
  • Awesome Campaign (Very Long)
  • Some Lag (Depends on Your Internet Connection)
  • Re-Spawing Issues
  • Price of $6.99

Google Goggles Now Available For The iPhone! Great Application!

Google Goggles, an application designed for searching by just taking a picture, is finally here for the iPhone!

Google Goggles launched as an Android Application in December last year. It works by recognizing pictures & words with-in it, & then creating search results for things as books, business cards, etc… It also has the incredible feature of recognizing landmarks, paintings, & other historical objects, such as the Eiffel Tower. 🙂

10 months have passed & Google had time to make Google Goggles recognize more objects with a way better accuracy. After making an abundance of changes to the Android application, Google decided it was time for the iPhone users to have a go at it. It’s now available for download in the Apple App Store.

Unfortunately Google Goggles can’t recognize food & animals… yet. I bet Google’s trying to make this possible, but for this to happen, we’ll have to be patient for some time. Google Goggles will most likely get an update sooner or later, but for now, Android & IOS users are only able to search for Pictures, Historical Objects, & landmarks.

Google Goggles requires a camera to have Auto-Focus, so unfortunately it’s only available to the iPhone 3GS & iPhone 4 users running IOS 4.0 or later. Watch this video to find out more about Google Goggles.

What’s your opinion of Google Goggles? Is it worth downloading? iPhone users, are you going to download Google Goggles? Discuss this topic in the comments!

All US & Canadian carriers are supported for text messaging. This application was $0.99, but now it’s Free! There are in-app payment offers for more features. I would say that TextNow is the best texting application on the App Store. It beats TextPlus in every way; the Push-Notifications are a lot faster, TextNow also allows the user to customize their “Phone” with backgrounds & what-not.

Let’s look at some of the features TextNow has to offer:
  • Push notifications
  • Horizontal keyboard

Doesn’t this look way more attractive than TextPlus? We’re talking about a iPod Touch Revolution! All though this isn’t only designed for the iPod Touch, it’s also designed for both the iPhone & the iPad. Isn’t this just revolutionary!

Are you wondering which carriers TextNow supports? Don’t worry! They support all the Carriers in the United States & Canada.

FIFA 11 Released for iPhone, iPod Touch, & iPad. Is it really worth $4.99?

If you are a Soccer Fan & have checked out the FIFA 2010 South Africa World Cup Application, you should definitely consider looking at the new FIFA 11 application created by EA Sports. It was released September 30, 2010 with a price of $4.99 It’s definitely a cheaper way to go than purchasing FIFA 11 for a console. 🙂

iPhone Screenshot 5If you own an Iphone 4 or an iPod Touch 4th Generation, FIFA 11 is made to maximize the Retina Display. In other words, the quality of the graphics are fantastic! Now you can also swipe a player to make an attacking run, which wasn’t available to do in the other FIFA games, such as FIFA 10 & FIFA 09. If you have a favourite team & want to be able to play it against opponents, don’t worry, there are 500+ Teams to choose from. This is a feature which, I think, will attract an abundance of FIFA lovers! EA Sports did another great job on the stadium environments. They look beautiful! They put exact detail into the stadiums, fields, lights, sky, and way more!

Yet, there are some differences in opinions of the game. The users that have already downloaded the game via the 2nd Generation iPod claim that FIFA 11 won’t work, or works extremely slow. This isn’t a good reputation for EA Sports, & this hasn’t happened the first time either. At the moment, FIFA 11 is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch (3rd generation), iPod Touch (4th generation) and iPad. They all require IOS 3.0 or later. With today’s technology EA Sports should be able to create versions for people that haven’t got the iPod Touch 4th Generation or 3rd.

With this being said, I don’t think FIFA 11 for the iPhone, iPod Touch, & iPad will ever be a hit without them changing some serious things. EA Sports should listen to their users, why do we have a Rating system? For the company to look at what the users like & don’t like. I give FIFA 11 a solid 2.5/5.
