Research in Motion (RIM) has offered a small glimpse of their upcoming product, the BlackBerry PlayBook. They’ve released a video showing the PlayBook offer Adobe Flash & its superior Web Browsing speed to Apple’s iPad.
The video was posted by RIM entitles “BlackBerry PlayBook and iPad Comparison: Web Fidelity.” The video clearly shows the BlackBerry PlayBook loading Web Pages much faster than the Apple iPad. RIM’s definitely trying to “loosen” the competition with Apple by showing the PlayBook loading a few Flash Pages, for example Adidas‘s interactive Home Page. RIM then compared this to the iPad by loading the exact same page, which resulted in the iPad displaying the following message; “Flash is not available on the device”.
The Apple iPad has already been on the Tablet Market since April, early this year. RIM is planning on releasing the BlackBerry PlayBook in early 2011, with a price under $500. While RIM is planning on releasing the PlayBook early next year, Apple’s also in the plans of releasing its second generation iPad at about the same time. Will the PlayBook stand a chance? Who Knows.
Do you think the BlackBerry PlayBook will stand a chance against the iPad & the future 2nd Gen iPad? Let us know in the comments!
