This is not a special occasion, but it should definitely be marked. According to StrategyAnalytics, the iPhone has passed RIM (BlackBerry) as global smart-phone shipments reached 77 million units in the 3rd quarter of 2010. According to the report, Apple sold the iPhone over 14.1 million times, while RIM sold 12.1. This is not the only bad news RIM’s received, the company also dropped 16.1% in sales from the previous quarter. Nokia is still far ahead of both Apple & RIM with 26.5 million sales, but the company also dropped 3% while the iPhone was up to 18.3%.
What’s your take on this? Do you expect Apple to take over 1st place? Tell us in the comments! 🙂
