Firefox Home. A good solution for the iPhone or iPod Touch? [App Review]

Firefox Home

Firefox Home is yet another application which allows the user to search the web… in a different way. Firefox Home doesn’t let you type into the “Search” bar, it only allows you to visit the web pages that you have opened while on your PC. Your probably confused, and I don’t blame you one bit! To be able to understand what Firefox Home really is, you would need to try it for yourself… but I’ll try my best to explain how Firefox Home actually works.

You Need:
  • A Personal Computer
  • An iPod Touch or iPhone (Any Gen. with at least 3.1.)

Quite simple right? But it gets more confusing. If you’ve got those two items, you’ll need to visit the Firefox Add-Ons Page to download the Add-On that goes along with the application. Once that Add-On is successfully installed on you Personal Computer, you have to enable it to sync with the application on your iPhone or iPod Touch. In order to do that, you’ll have to create an account if you haven’t already.

If you have everything set up, you may log into your account using the application on your device. Once logged-in, you are able to visit all the web pages you have open in your Computer browser. That’s it!

To be honest, I don’t like Firefox Home one bit! As you read, it’s a confusing process (Just for installing the app), which only allows you to do the things you can do on your Computer. In my opinion this app is only useful for the iPhone, since you have a 3G network, but you might as well just log into your computer, while your at home, since you can do all the things on the PC instead of the iPod Touch.

I give Firefox Home a solid 2/5 Stars for not being very creative, nor having a very simple sign-up process. It’s extremely confusing too!
